As a result of increasing human population and diminishing ranches as well as need for high quality meat and milk and animal by-products, the college of veterinary medicine and medical sciences established the diploma program in tropical animal health and production which is hosted by this department.
The main purpose is to produce veterinary paraprofessional who after graduation would improve livestock health and productivity. In that perspective, the departments make sure that the students are manpowered with current and specialized knowledge, practical skills, and attitude oriented extension services.
This program also upgrades the certificate holders and train new animal health and production assistants for the expanding private sector.
