Dr. Komba is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania. He obtained a Bachelor degree of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2005 and 2008, respectively. In 2015 Dr. Komba obtained a PhD from the same University.
During his Master degree, Dr. Komba did research on the epidemiology of Porcine cysticercosis in small-holder pig farming systems. With continued interest in infectious disease Epidemiology, during his PhD Dr. Komba worked on “Epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance of thermophilic Campylobacter in human and animal populations”.
Dr. Komba has 10 years experience in teaching postgraduate, undergraduate and non degree students at SUA and other universities in Tanzania. He teaches medicine, epidemiology, animal behavior, animal welfare and research methods. He has supervised 10 master and 54 undergraduate students’ research works.
Dr. Komba has 10 years of experience in research particularly working in the area of Infecious disease Epidemiology. Dr. Komba has published 20 articles in peer reviewed journals and one paper in a conference proceeding. He has been involved in more than 5 research projects.
Currently Dr. Komba serves as Chairman of the Undergraduate Studies Committee of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of Sokoine University of Agriculture.
