Training

The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health train personnel for;-
 
Public Health; preventing diseases, prolonging life and promoting health through organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private, communities and individuals.
 
Department runs training in general public health; food processing, preservation and storage, water sanitation and appropriate waste disposal. human safety against sick animals, (zoonosis, emerging pandemic disease threats zika, ebola, HIV Aids), and food contaminations, food poisons and intoxications.
 
Veterinary Medicine; diseases of domestic and wild animals, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control, animal behaviour, animal handling and restraining, special training of animals such as dogs. Policies, Legislature and Parliamentary Acts on domestic and wildlife health.
