Dr. Bunyaga graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2011. He joined the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology as a Tutorial assistant in 2011 and later in 2013 took a certificate in global health in Nepal. He obtained his Masters in Veterinary Studies in 2017 at Massey University New Zealand and he was also a USDA scholar of 2018 based at Iowa State University USA. He earned his doctorate in 2024 from Massey University New Zealand on the behaviour of sheep around a natural waterway and impact on water quality in New Zealand. He applied precision technologies (GPS and Accelerometers) to characterize animal behaviour. Dr. Bunyaga teaches animal reproduction and biotechnology to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of Society for Theriogenology and Tanzania Veterinary Association.
