Dr. Athanas Alex Ngou

Athanas graduated his Master of Veterinary Sciences (majored in Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics) from the Deemed University in India. His master thesis on the ‘Effect of Partial Deoxygenation of Semen Dilutor with Oxyrase on Freezability of Bull Spermatozoa’ undertaken at the ICAR – Indian Veterinary Research Institute, (2017-2019). Athanas graduated his first degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania in 2014. From 2014 to 2015 he served as a Volunteering Residential Veterinary Officer at Zanzibar Animals Affection Society (ZAASO) and a State Veterinarian of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. In 2015, he joined the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology as a Tutorial Assistant in Theriogenology, where he is now working as an assistant lecturer of Theriogenology. He teaches Theriogenology to undergraduate and non-degree students. Also, he is serving the farmers and the public at large through the Teaching Animal Hospital.
