Dr. Doreen Godfrey Ndossi

Dr. Ndossi graduated from Sokoine University of Agriculture in 2004, and worked briefly as a Capacity building Associate Program Coordinator at World Vision Tanzania. She joined SUA in April 2005 as a Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology where she pursued her master’s degree in veterinary surgery from 2006-2008. In 2007, she received a Diploma in Global Health at the University of Tampere Medical School, Finland, and in 2008 a Diploma in Agricultural and Natural Resources Transformation for Improved Livelihoods at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway. In 2010 she joined the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) for her PhD. She was attached at the School of Biological Sciences, Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland for 2 months (2012) for laboratory training on reporter gene assays to complement her PhD at NMBU on “Mycotoxins as Potential Endocrine Disrupters: in vitro models for steroidogenesis and receptor signaling” that was awarded in 2014. Since 2005, she has been working at SUA, currently as a lecturer at the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology. During that time, she has obtained several trainings on Intellectual Property Management including the WIPO Training program on “Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources: In Support of Innovation” in Sweden, Switzerland, and Zambia between 2018-2019. She also has certificate of General Course on Intellectual Property (2023) through Distance Learning Programme by WIPO. These trainings enabled her to pioneer establishment of the SUA Innovation Hub and the Agri-Food technology station at SUA for technology transfer.
